It's a big day for Battlestar Galactica fans -- brand new webisodes go live at 12 noon EST -- and a really big day if you've ever wondered why the show with the most hot men on TV has never had any gay characters. (I'm overlooking sadistic lesbian Admiral Cain and her brief reign of terror.) AfterElton spells out the big gay news. Spoiler after the jump...
The big reveal is this: Lt. Felix Gaeta (Allessandro Juliani) -- he of the bedroom eyes, rational mind and gorgeous singing voice -- is in a relationship with and Lt. Hoshi -- up until now, a very minor, if handsome, character. The plot turns on Hoshi's attempt to find Gaeta after he disappears on a mission. Sounds like love to me.
Gay fanboys are already grumbling that by releasing the gay storyline as an online extra, BSG is avoiding including it in the show itself. But that seems to overlook the fact that the webisodes are meant to create excitement, i.e. lure viewers in for the upcoming, final season 4.5. Which, I am so pleased to say, starts on January 16. HOORAY.
um, shouldn't that be
Spoiler after the... "JUMP!"
